Japan Art Show Sneak Peek!  “Geisha”

This illustration will be 1 of 2 full illustrations showing at the Japan Art Show on June 11 from 7pm-11pm located at 2352 N. Clybourn Ave. Both paintings will be auctioned/sold at the show, and aside from the donations from friends and colleagues at the door, I vow to donate a large percentage of the illustrations proceeds, if they are sold, to the American Red Cross Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. Even if art isn’t your thing, come and donate a few $. It’s for good cause.

See you there!

Appearance: Japan Relief Art Show

This week I’m working on a Japanese themed piece for The Japan Relief Art Show hosted by Chicago illustrators Carla Wyzgala and Andy Evans. I haven’t been in an art show since college so the build up to this has been exciting and nerve racking all at once. The great aspect of this whole project is that all proceeds collected at the door will go to help a good cause. Thumbs up to the host for such a great idea.

Japan Relief Art Show
SHOW DATE SAT JUNE 11
@ 2352 Clybourn, Chicago IL
7pm - 11pm

Located at 2352 N. Clybourn Ave,under a green awning, right next to the nightclub VAIN, across the street from BP and down the street from famous Chicago pizza place Pequods and the Webster Regal movie theater.
The show on June 11th will be showcasing local upcoming Chicagoland artists and several American Academy of Art, Chicago, alumni including creators Carla Wyzgala and Andy Evans.
With pieces ranging from watercolor to photography, the show hopes to supply a variety of styles and mediums while still holding on to an underlying message that the beauty of destruction and disaster in Japanese culture inspires the creative mind.
Even though we have a serious cause to support, the night will be full of music, video entertainment, live photography, socializing, light food and drinks.
Also available the night of the show will be merchandise, including wristbands, prints, pins, earrings and posters exclusive to the theme of the show and all proceeds along with the entrance donations will go towards the American Red Cross Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.
